Aren’t You Glad God Never Changes? He Is Our Rock, Our Anchor, In A Turbulent World.

Aren’t You Glad God Never Changes? He Is Our Rock, Our Anchor, In A Turbulent World.

“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.”

(Psalm 46:1-2).

How has your life been changed by technology and political shifts over the last decade? Do you find it frightening or exhilarating?

Jeanne Calment saw her share of cultural shifts. Officially certified as the world’s oldest human, she died at the age of 122 in 1997. Right up to the end, she had a sharp mind and an amazing resistance to sickness, stress, and depression.

The Frenchwoman was born into a world lit by gas and candle, one year before the telephone was patented. She had memories of selling colored pencils to Vincent Van Gogh and watching the construction of the Eiffel Tower. She witnessed the progress of the first cars and “aero-planes,” yet lived nearly three decades past the moonwalk.

When the First World War began, she was already 40. She had reached retirement age by the time World War II began. Yet she lived through all of it—the advent of radio, then television, and finally the Internet.

Mark Twain said that no one likes change but a wet baby. But, today, human knowledge doubles every year. That means our knowledge base will multiply 1000 times in the next ten years. Aren’t you glad God never changes? He is our rock, our anchor, in a turbulent world.

What’s your anchor in the midst of life’s constant changes? Is it God? He never changes. He will never leave you. Set your anchor today and every day in the God who never changes.

Because God never changes,

my future is secure.
