Change Your Mind Set

““And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”. Romans12:2

The Bible in the book of Mark gave the account of Jesus and His disciples in a boat crossing the sea, and there was this ragging storm. The disciples tried to use all their expertise to control and manoeuvre the boat but failed and I can imagine them trying to bail out the water from the boat and the more they tried the more the water came in. Their lives seemed to be in jeopardy. But watch what Jesus was doing, he was sleeping in the same storm. How can someone be sleeping and others are running helter-skelter? It is possible to still be in this world and live as though you are not in this world and that’s what God is trying to tell us.

Jesus was sleeping and they were trying to use their expertise to stabilize the boat but they couldn’t. This signifies that we have entered a time when your degrees or certificates mean nothing. We have come to an era where expertise, ideas and even education are failing and for this reason we need something higher and we also need to function from another perspective. Let me tell you, if you don’t change your mind set, to see from the eyes of God, you will run crazy in this world.

While they were busy bailing water, some finally remembered that Jesus was in the boat and then called Him into the situation. Look at Jesus, rousing from sleep, without panic, rebuked the storm and it became still and they couldn’t understand it. And they said what manner of man is this? That is, you are not like us, you are not a mere man. That is what should be said about you and this can only happen when you make up your mind to function from another dimension, just like God. If you confront your situation like a mere man, you will be overwhelmed by that situation. I declare today that you will not be overwhelmed by any ragging storm in Jesus name.
