Let Us Go In The Power Of The Holy Spirit.
Matthew_28-19-3: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost
TEXT: Mark 6:7-13
‘So the disciples went out, telling everyone they met to repent of their sins and turn to God. And they cast out many demons and healed many sick people, anointing them with olive oil.’

One of the major requirements for any serious vocational training is to have practical or field experience. Hence, it was the requirement of the disciples of Jesus Christ to go on mission as we read in today’s text. What was their mandate? The Lord sent them on the mission with the authority to preach the good news of salvation, heal the sick and cast out demons.
As usual, whoever sends you on a mission or to perform a duty, you have the person’s authority. A mark of such authority in Biblical times is a staff or rod which also served as a walking stick, support when standing and to ward off danger in an agrarian or wilderness environment, as used by shepherds or cattle breeders. Hence, Jesus Christ allowed the disciples to go on mission with His authority mainly for saving of lives and dealing with enemies –driving out demons from the demon-possessed or oppressed and healing the sick.
By the Lord’s commission, as contained in Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15, Luke 24:46 and John 20:21, we must go out with authority and power in His name to preach the gospel, heal the sick and cast out demons. Last year, we took time to study in-depth the word of God, just like the disciples of Jesus Christ. With the knowledge and understanding that we have acquired, let us go in the power of the Holy Spirit launching offensive into the kingdom of darkness to release people from their troubles.
When we go as Jesus Christ commanded, things will happen. You must be an agent of change henceforth.

Gracious Lord, make me a willing and honourable vessel in Your vineyard in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen.
