Can God count on you?

1 PETER 2:9

Our God is faithful to us. We can count on God in any situation. But can God count on us? Will we yield to His will, and truly be His Hands and Feet in this world? Will we be committed and faithful to Him?

The Bible tells us in the Book of 1 Peter 2:9, that we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people, that we may show forth His goodness, for He has called us out of darkness into His wonderful light.

You and I are very important to God. All through Scripture, we see how significant we are to God. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are His face and hands to the world. Peter, the disciple of Jesus, tells us that “we are an holy nation.” Which means that we are not to imitate the way of the world but we are to follow the example of our Lord Jesus. We are called to live a life of separation from the way of the world.

However, the life of separation does not mean that we are to isolate ourselves from the world. Our Master, Jesus, gave us a great commission, to go into all the world and preach the good news of salvation. In the midst of all the chaos and uncertainty going on in the world today, Jesus is the Answer.

Can God count on you to point the lost and hopeless to Him?

Brethren, we have to take our stand and be clear about which side we are on? The stakes are too high, and Jesus paid too high a price for us to be lukewarm or play games with our assignment.

As disciples of Jesus, we have a duty to know what the Word of God [Jesus] says. The Word of God should mould our thoughts, guide our utterances, and frame all our conversations.

Can God count on you to increase your knowledge of His Word so that you can tell it to the world and defend it against false teachers?

Can God count on you to stand upon His Word and be obedient to Him regardless of whatever opposition may be up against you? Jesus’ obedience to His Father was total, and ours should be no less.

Can God count on you to be uncompromising in the fight against sin, ungodly values, unscriptural multiple marriages, homosexuality, licentiousness, immorality and every kind of depravity that we see all around us today?

It was King Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, who asked a profound question in the Book of Proverbs 20:6, “most men will proclaim everyone his own goodness: but a faithful man, who can find?”

I believe God is calling us to be His dependable disciples in this season.

Dependability is an invaluable attribute which every Believer should cultivate if we are going to be mightily used by God in the new season we are entering into. May the Lord help us to be faithful to our calling in the Name of Jesus.

PRAYER POINTS

  1. Father, thank You for Your faithfulness to us even when we are unfaithful to You. We give You glory for Who You Are.
  2. Father, please help us to grow in the knowledge of Your Word, and as we do, help us to cultivate an unshakable faith in Your Word, so that we can become Your dependable and faithful disciples, in the Name of Jesus.
  3. Father, please help us to not walk by sight, but to walk by faith, so that, like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, we will not lose our composure in the face of fiery trials, and we will bow to NOTHING & NO ONE else but You our KING, in the Name of Jesus, Amen!
