Order That Devil Out! You’ve Got God-Given Authority Over Devils.

Order That Devil Out! You’ve Got God-Given Authority Over Devils.

Luke 8:28-29 “… “What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me!” For He had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man….”

When you read this account of the demon-possessed man at Gadara in full detail, you begin to wonder, “Why didn’t the devils come out immediately, rather than the man running to Jesus?” Let me explain: First, you need to understand that every human being has to run his own life; you can’t cast the devil out of someone who doesn’t want the devil to go, except the person places himself under your influence. This mad man at Gadara was possessed by demons for a long time. He was so maniacal that he cut himself with sharp stones, night and day, and anytime he was bound with chains and fetters, he broke them (Luke 8:27-33).

Now, something happened before he ran towards Jesus; when Jesus was still a distance away, the devil in him cried out with a loud voice; that’s what we read in our opening verse; this happened when the Lord first commanded the devil to come out of the man. So, even though the devil didn’t leave the man, he couldn’t stop him from running to Jesus. Until the man in question placed himself under the Master’s influence, by running towards Him, he couldn’t be helped. It’s the same way today.

You’ve got authority over all demons and the cohorts of darkness in the Name of Jesus. If there’s anything you’re uncomfortable with, and you can perceive that a demon is responsible, order him out. You don’t have to scream and shout to do it; there’s no distance in the realm of the spirit.

Command him to stop his operations and manoeuvres; it doesn’t matter where he is in this world, he’ll hear you. However, remember, when it has to do with casting him out of a person, it works best when that one places himself under your influence.

1 Timothy 2:1-2

Mark 16:17-18

James_4-7: Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you
James_4-7: Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you

The Devil Is Only As Powerful As You Empower Him.

1-Peter_5-8: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour

1-Peter_5-8: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour

“For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. ”
Matthew 12:37 (KJV)

One of the lies of the devil is to make you think that you are ordinary. The devil even takes the lie farther by making you think that you are at his command. However, the trick of the devil is to overwhelm you and make you align your words to his plans and then when it come to pass, you give undue credit to the devil. Beloved, the devil is only as powerful as you empower him.

Don’t think too far about how you empower the devil. The answer is simple: YOU EMPOWER THE DEVIL BY YOUR IGNORANCE OF THE FINISHED WORK OF CALVARY. When you don’t know your rights and privileges, rather than giving the command and the devil must obey, you go begging the devil, and being the wicked spirit that he is, he relishes in your tears and refuses to let go. This throws you into a circle of frustration and rather than face the enemy, you judge God a liar and if care is not taken, the believer can backslide. Beloved, ignorance is not an excuse, get into the word today, find out your rights and privileges and exercise them.

The second way believers empower the devil is by SPEAKING THE WRONG WORDS. If you speak negatively, then you have consciously or unconsciously aligned with the devil and like the Bible says, if any two shall agree on earth ..(Matt. 18:19) you have agreed with the devil and God has no choice but to let you have your way. When things happen, rather than say the wrong things, find out what the word of God says concerning the situation and rehearse it knowing that when your words agree with the word of God, God is obligated to honour it and He will. Your words carry more power than you think: death and life are in the power of the tongue; learn to use it correctly that you may enjoy the benefits of the fruits of your lips.

Matthew 12:30-37

Proverbs 18:21

Isaiah 34-36

Colossians 2

Thank You Jesus.

Holy Communion! The Lord’s Supper! Devil’s reminder of his humiliating defeat at the Cross of Calvary

Holy Communion! The Lord’s Supper! Devil’s reminder of his humiliating defeat at the Cross of Calvary

Hebrews_12-2: Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God

Hebrews_12-2: Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God

1 Corinthians 11:26
For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.

1-Corinthians_1-18: For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God

1-Corinthians_1-18: For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God

In the Old Testament, whenever the children of Israel sacrificed a lamb for a burnt offering as they faced a strong enemy, victory was theirs. For example, in 1 Samuel 7:7–11, when the Philistines were coming against them, the prophet Samuel offered a lamb as a burnt offering. As it was being offered, the Lord came like a loud thunder on the Philistine army, confusing them. This led to victory for the Israelites.

Every time something bad happened to the children of Israel, by offering a lamb sacrifice, they were proclaiming the Lord’s death, and the battle would turn in their favor.

Today, when we are faced with an enemy, how do we offer our “burnt offering”? How do we proclaim the Lord’s death and come out victorious? Do we ask Jesus to come down to where we are at and die on the cross all over again?

Of course not. Jesus died once for all our sins—past, present and future. (Hebrews 10:12) His work is perfectly perfect and completely complete, so He doesn’t have to die for us again. Today, we proclaim His death simply by partaking of the Lord’s Supper.

Every time you partake of the bread and wine, you declare to the principalities and powers of darkness that the Lord’s death avails for you. Every time you partake, you are saying that because Jesus has been judged and punished in your place, you cannot be judged and punished. Because Jesus died young in your place, you will live long. And because He conquered death and stripped the devil of his powers, you will not be defeated. The victory is already yours!

That is why the psalmist David said, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies…” (Psalm 23:5) The Lord’s table is prepared for you in the presence of your enemies because when you partake of the bread and wine, you will see your enemies tremble and scatter! Why? Because when you proclaim the Lord’s death through the Holy Communion, you are reminding the devil and his cohorts of their humiliating defeat at Calvary’s cross! (Colossians 2:15)

Psalms_23-5: Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Psalms_23-5: Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

ARE YOU MORE CONSCIOUS OF THE DEVIL THAN OF GOD?

ARE YOU MORE CONSCIOUS OF THE DEVIL THAN OF GOD?

1-Peter_5-8: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour

1-Peter_5-8: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith
1 Peter 5:8–9

When I was a teenager, I was taught that if I wanted to resist the devil, I had to rebuke him. So whenever an evil thought came to my mind or I was tempted, I found myself saying, “I resist you, devil, in Jesus’ name! I bind you, devil! Go away from me, devil! I rebuke you in Jesus’ name!”

James_4-7: Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you

James_4-7: Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you

This went on until God showed me one day that though I had “resisted” the devil, I had spent more time talking to him than to God! I was more conscious of the devil than of God throughout the day.

Proverbs_30-5: Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him

Proverbs_30-5: Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him

I checked the Word of God and realized that we resist the devil not by focusing on resisting him, but by being established in the faith that we are made right with God through Jesus’ blood, that we are the righteousness of God in Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

2-Corinthians_5-21: For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him

2-Corinthians_5-21: For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him

Yes, the devil will continue to remind you of your mistakes, failures and sins. And he will tell you that because of these things, you cannot receive your healing, that you will have to pay for your mistakes or that something bad will happen to your family. He will accuse you, condemn you and try to persuade your heart to believe that he can do bad things to you.

Romans_8-1:There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit

Romans_8-1:There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit

But the truth is that the devil cannot enforce anything in your life if he cannot persuade your heart. And your heart cannot be persuaded if it is “Steadfast In The Faith”, if it is established in righteousness. God says that once you are established in righteousness, “You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you”. (Isaiah 54:14)

Romans_1-17: For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith

Romans_1-17: For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith

So now that my heart is established in righteousness, I can boldly declare, “Yes, I may have these problems in my life, but I am not guilty in God’s eyes. I am justified in God’s eyes by faith because of what Christ has done. I am righteous by Jesus’ blood!”

Ephesians_2-8: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Ephesians_2-8: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

My Love! That is how you resist the devil and become undevourable!

John_3-17: For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved

John_3-17: For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved

God does not need you to defeat the devil. Jesus has already done it and given you the victory

God does not need you to defeat the devil. Jesus has already done it and given you the victory

1-John_5-4-3: For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith

1-John_5-4-3: For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith

Ephesians 6:11
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Ephesians_6-13: Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand

Ephesians_6-13: Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand

God does not need you to defeat the devil today. Jesus has already done it and given you the victory. (Colossians 2:15, Romans 8:37) Your part is to enforce the victory by simply standing your ground, which is victory ground. In other words, you “fight” from victory ground by standing. You don’t fight for victory.

Ephesians_6-11: Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil

Ephesians_6-11: Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil

In Ephesians 6:10–18, the passage on spiritual warfare, the word “wrestle” appears only once (verse 12), while the word “stand” appears four times—“stand against the wiles of the devil”, “withstand in the evil day”, “having done all, to stand”, “Stand therefore”. (Verses 11, 13–14) Four times the Holy Spirit tells us to stand. Yet, many Christian are focusing on wrestling their way to victory!

2-Timothy_2-19: Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity

2-Timothy_2-19: Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity

My friend, you are already on victory ground. You already have everything in Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:21, 23) You are already blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. (Ephesians 1:3). The devil knows this. And that is why his tactic is to deceive you and make you think that you don’t have the victory.

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ

So when he attacks you by saying, “Look at that small sum in your bank account! How are you going to pay the bills?stand your ground. Declare, “I am not trying to be rich. I am already blessed in Christ!” It doesn’t matter how much you have in the bank. You are richly supplied because you are in Christ. And as the need arises, the supply will be there if you believe it.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

It is the same with healing. The devil will try to attack you with symptoms in your body. He will try to put pain in your body, and make you feel weak here and there, so that you think that you are still sick. He is trying to make you believe that you don’t have your healing. That is the time to be conscious of Jesus’ finished work and declare, “I am not trying to get healed, I am healed! I am standing on the victory ground which Jesus has given me!

Beloved, it makes a world of difference when you fight from victory and not for victory!

Devil, Fear and Doubt

Psalms_23-4-1: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Psalms_23-4-1: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Then he began to call down curses on himself and he swore to them, ‘I don’t know the man!’ Immediately a rooster crowed. Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken: ‘Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.’ And he went outside and wept bitterly.

Matthew 26:74-75

1-Peter_5-8: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour

1-Peter_5-8: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour

Ever since the fall of man, the devil has been actively working to sow doubt and denial in the body of Christ.

The devil succeeded in his evil work in the Garden of Eden, tempting Adam and Eve and causing sin to enter the world: “Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, ‘Did God really say, “You must not eat from any tree in the garden”?'” (Genesis 3:1)

Satan succeeded again with Peter on the night of Jesus’ betrayal-in Matthew 26:69-75, Peter disowned Jesus.

If it could happen to Peter, one of Jesus’ faithful disciples, it could happen to anyone.

The devil will try to instill fear and doubt in whatever way he can. If he can get you to doubt the power and presence of Christ, he has succeeded in his evil work.

Do not give the devil the opportunity to sow these seeds. Rebuke him in the name of Jesus!

Ezekiel 33

You Will Have Many Reasons To Celebrate This Year And There Is Nothing The Devil Can Do About It

Psalms_113-3: From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD'S name is to be praised

Psalms_113-3: From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’S name is to be praised

“He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill; That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.”

Psalms 113:7-8 (KJV)

When last did you meditate on this God? Rahab was a professional prostitute known in the city of Jericho but when she had an encounter with God, He blessed her and blessed all her kindred. And God made her a princess out of a prostitute. In the book of Matthew chapter 1, in the genealogy of Jesus Christ, you will see Rahab‘s name. And even Tamar, Bathsheba, Ruth (the Moabitess) in the lineage of Jesus. God delivered them from their idolatry and evil background into the lineage of His dear son. If He can do that, why are you writing yourself off? Colossians 1:13 says “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: Your reproach ends today.

Galatians_5-22: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith

Galatians_5-22: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith

This year will answer to you as if you are the only one permitted to enter the goodness of the year. God will crown the year with His goodness and your path will drop fatness (Psalm 65:11) anything that will not give you joy will pass by you. Only good is permitted to come by you. Our God is good and He does good and you can tell what He has in stock for you because you are His son and His thought towards you are thought of good not of evil to give an expected end. He who spared not His only son but freely gave Him for you, how can He not also freely give you all things? (Romans 8:32).

Psalms_23-5: Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Psalms_23-5: Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

You will have many reasons to celebrate and there is nothing the devil can do about it. He has been trying to rob you of your testimonies but he will not succeed. No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper and every tongue that rises up in judgment against you shall be condemned. This year, your mouth will testify. Only good is your expectation. I will see you at the top.

It’s Time To Rip Some Things The Devil Has Tried To Make You Wear

Proverbs_18-10: The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe

Proverbs_18-10: The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe

49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him over!” They called out to the blind man and said, “Don’t be afraid! Come on! He is calling for you.” 50 The man threw off his coat as he jumped up and ran to Jesus.

Mark 10:49-50

Psalms_51-10: Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me

Psalms_51-10: Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me

Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. The LORD said to Satan, “The LORD rebuke you, Satan! Indeed, the LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?”  Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments and standing before the angel.   He spoke and said to those who were standing before him, saying, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” Again he said to him, “See, I have taken your iniquity away from you and will clothe you with festal robes.”  Then I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with garments, while the angel of the LORD was standing by.

Zechariah 3:1-5

Psalms_84-11: For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly

Psalms_84-11: For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly

It’s time to rip some things the devil has tried to make you wear. Get dressed in the reality of your redemption in Christ. You have access to new places. Dress up in honor. Put on a garment of praise right now!

Confession: I rejoice because I do not wear the same clothes that I used to wear! In Christ, I have new clothes!

Do not be conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of the mind that you may be able to prove what is that good, acceptable and perfect will of God ( Roman 12:2)

Do not be conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of the mind that you may be able to prove what is that good, acceptable and perfect will of God ( Roman 12:2).

There is something the devil constantly does to the believer daily. It is called mind game. At times when we approach God, we come with our senses. Please leave your senses most especially when it not aligning with God’s word. You cannot run this race and overrun the devil with your senses. The scripture tells us in Genesis 3 that Satan is very subtle. If you hang around him long enough, he will deceive you. Jesus said to us that even the very elect could be deceived (Mark 13:22). This is why the bible tells us we should rebuke him. You don’t hang around and begin to talk with the enemy.

Look at Jesus, God had just finished speaking with him. “This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased”, and next verse; “he was led to the wilderness to be tempted by the devil”. Satan began communicating and playing mind games with Jesus but thank God for the word! Jesus kept telling the devil. “It is written”! Amen! When the devil begins to throw suggestions and ideas at you that are contrary to the will of God, he is playing a mind game on you and you must reply him with “it is written” This is the way to defeat the devil and place him continually at check.

So what has God said about you and about your circumstance? What is written concerning you? What word of God do you have concerning the situation you are passing through? You cannot defeat the devil and his mind games if you don’t dwell in the fullness of God’s word. I challenge you to renew your mind today by reading and meditation continually on God’s word and I guarantee you will experience total victory in every area because the word of God never fails.

May GOD bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May GOD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the LORD lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Mark 3. Healing On The Sabbath. The Man With A Paralysed Hand

Mark 3. Healing On The Sabbath. The Man With A Paralysed Hand

1 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand. 2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him. 3 And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth. 4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace. 5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other. 6 And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him. 7 But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea, 8 And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him. 9 And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him. 10 For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues. 11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God. 12 And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.

13 And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. 14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, 15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils: 16 And Simon he surnamed Peter; 17 And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder: 18 And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite, 19 And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house. 20 And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread. 21 And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.

22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils. 23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? 24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 27 No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house. 28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: 29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: 30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

31 There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. 32 And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. 33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? 34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

May GOD bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May GOD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the LORD lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Matthew 9. Jesus Heals A Paralysed Man

Matthew 9. Jesus Heals A Paralysed Man

1 And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city. 2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. 3 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. 4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? 5 For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? 6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. 7 And he arose, and departed to his house. 8 But when the multitude saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.

9 And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him. 10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? 12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. 13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

14 Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not? 15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. 16 No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse. 17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

18 While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live. 19 And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples. 20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: 21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. 22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. 23 And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, 24 He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn. 25 But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose. 26 And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.

27 And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us. 28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. 29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. 30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it. 31 But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country. 32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil. 33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel. 34 But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.

35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Satan is already defeated

Get Behind Me Satan

Get Behind Me Satan (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Satan is already defeated

We need to remember that the Lord has already defeated Satan at the cross. We should quit magnifying Satan and giving him so much credit. Instead, we should focus on the wonder-working God Who fights our battles for us. Then we would see with our own eyes the victories we long for!

If the devil has been bombarding you with temptations, tests, and trials, remember—the battle is not yours. It’s God’s. You don’t have to try to “fight” Satan. Just stand your ground with the Word of God. And begin to praise Him for performing for you what He promised in His Word (Rom. 4:21; Heb. 10:23).

Some circumstances will look impossible to you. But if you are to stand firm and immovable on God’s Word, believing Him to fight every battle for you, you will need to learn the power in praise.

Learn to give God praise and glory in the midst of every trial—before the obstacles are gone. Give God praise and glory for what He has promised you in His Word—even though you don’t see any change in your circumstances. That’s faith! And faith always wins the victory (1 John 5:4)!

Get to know who you are in Christ. When you do and the devil comes against you, you can throw your shoulders back and begin to march like a true soldier of God. You’ll have your helmet of salvation intact and your shield of faith raised high. You can boldly proclaim the promises of God, singing and praising Him confidently for the victory. And you shall prevail!

It’s time that we in the Church, the Lord’s army, begin to march forward and praise God. It’s time for us to use the praises of God to combat every crisis the devil throws at us!

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23

There is a huge separation between God and His creation, man.

Satan has done his best to alienate us from our God, and has left a trail of broken planks on the bridge to Him. We are in the midst of the worst scenario the world has seen, as chaos, war, promiscuity, murder and drug use prevail.

In other words, sin.

Why is it that we have now decided sin is an obsolete idea whose usefulness has long ago vanished? Why do we now think that living a fairly good life is enough to “save” us? What makes us think we can dismiss sin as irrelevant in our times?

Satan’s strategy is to get us to deny that sin and our sinfulness exist, thereby eliminating our need for a Saviour.

Jesus came to save people from their sins (Matthew 1:21); that was His ultimate purpose.

We are under a terrible illusion if we really believe sin does not exist, or that it doesn’t matter. Jesus gave His life so that we could have a relationship with God. His death has spanned the chasm between man and God, and now we can all come to Him in repentance.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you

James 4:7 says: “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Fear comes from the devil. On the flip side blessing, increase, promotion, success, and breakthroughs come from God. I encourage you to resist fear. Resist its dominion over your thoughts, words, and actions because God says that when you resist fear (a manifestation of the devil), it will flee.

Make fear flee!

Invading the devil’s territory

INVADING THE DEVIL’S TERRITORY

Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your Name.” and He said to them, “I saw satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” (Luke 10:17-20)

Throughout His ministry on earth, Jesus encountered many people who were under demonic oppression and He had to come to their rescue by casting out the demons, healing the sick and teaching them the truth of the Gospel.

The devil was however enraged about this and he generated a lot of oppositions against Jesus. John 10:31; 39.

The apostles also had similar experiences in their missionary journeys. On a particular occasion, the devil stirred up a riot in the ancient city of Ephesus as result of the preaching of Apostle Paul against the practice of idolatry by the Ephesians and Paul’s companions were seized; Acts 19:29.

Evangelism is an area of ministry where believers must be prepared to do battle with the devil. This is because the devil is never happy when people who are within his territory are delivered and converted to Christ. He will not let go easily but will always fight back to retain control over the lives of such people.

If we must fulfil The Great Commission then we must be ready to confront the devil in battle. However, it is comforting to know that we are fighting from a position of Strength because Jesus has won the battle for us over two thousand years ago!

Our battle is not for victory but from victory in Jesus Christ Name! Amen!

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

The Prayer of Petition

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

THE PRAYER OF PETITION

I exhort therefore,
that first of all, supplications, prayers, intercession, and giving of thanks,
be made for all men (1Timothy 2:1).

There’re different kinds of prayers, and one of them is the
prayer of petition. A petition is a solemn entreaty, a supplication or request
appealing to an authority, or an earnest or humble appeal for something or to
someone. The prayer of petition is one that is done with seriousness and
intensity. It’s heartfelt and earnest.

This kind of praying doesn’t just depend on the length of
the prayer, but on the intensity of the spirit. You can shake the whole world
in a few minutes with it. It’s one that is direct in purpose, zealous, fervent
and marked by a deep feeling of conviction as described for us in James 5:16(AMP):
“……..The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes
tremendous power available (dynamic in its working)”.

It’s not every kind of prayer that makes tremendous power
available, but the prayer of petition does, and that power is dynamic in its
working. In other word, it works like dynamite. The King James Version calls it
“effectual and fervent.” That means it burns like fire! We read in the
Amplified Version that it is “heartfelt and continued.” It’s heartfelt because it
touches your heart; it gets a hold of your emotions.’

Sometimes, people pray without emotions, as though they
don’t even understand the subject they’re praying about. But the prayer of
petition is involving. It gets your emotions, and sometimes you find yourself
crying when you pray like this. Such prayers are hard to shout; they’re called
supplications, that is, humble, earnest requests.

At such times, you’re so humble you go on your knees or
prostrate on the floor before the LORD. Nobody may even hear you, but you’re
pouring out your heart before The LORD. It’s not the kind of prayer where you
talk just for two minutes and stop. It’s earnest, heartfelt and continued.  Learn to pray like this often, for this kind
of prayer makes tremendous power available.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank You for teaching me to prayer earnest, heartfelt and continued prayers.
As I spend time to pray like this today, Your divine power is manifested,
changes are effected, and circumstances in my life are changed, in Jesus Christ
Name I pray! Amen!

Satan Father Of Lies

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

SATAN FATHER OF LIES

When [the devil]
speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father
of it (John 8:44)

Satan’s sway over mankind began when he turned the minds of
Adam and Eve against God. In order to pull it off, he had to lie to them about
God – and they had to fall for it. In that defining moment, he lied to them
about God’s goodness, God’s Word, and God’s intentions (Gen.3:1-6).

Satan is still up to his old tricks. Jesus said that when
the devil “speak a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar”.
(John 8:44). It should not be surprising, then that when trouble interrupts our
lives, the father of lies whispers in our ears and suddenly we are questioning
God’s goodness. When we are told to follow His commands, we wonder if His Word is really true in the first place.
When Jesus tells us things like, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on
earth” (Matt.6:19), satan tells us that the good life is about piling up things
here, causing us to doubt God’s good intentions.

Our problem is that we, like Adam and Eve, believe satan’s
lies. And when we do, our loyalty to God is compromised. Then our enemy slithers
off to his next assignment, leaving us alone to face our regrets and the
realization that his lies have seduced us away from our truest and dearest
Friend. Who have you been listening to lately? – Joe Stowell

Satan can catch you by surprise

And stop you in your tracks,

So keep on guard and trust God’s Word,

Resist his strong attacks.-Branon

The power of satan is no match for
the power of God’s Word.

Fear not!

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

Image via Wikipedia

Though a host should
encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise against me,
in this will I be confident (Psalm 27:3)

Fear is one
of the most important tools of the adversary, the devil. The moment you yield
your heart to it, it’ll create the perfect environment for him to plunder your
life. Fear is a tormenting and domineering spirit; its intent is to take over
your life. You mustn’t yield to it or give it room in your heart.

Jairus was
on his way to his house with the Lord Jesus when he heard that his daughter was
dead. Jesus had to quickly rebuke the spirit of fear to stop it from dominating
his heart (Luke 8:49-50).

In Psalm
46:1-2, the psalmist expressed his confidence and boldness to confront
terrifying situations fearlessly. The reason was that he had spent a lot of
time studying and meditating on God’s law. You see, the information you allow
into your mind will determine the condition of your heart. For this reason, we
are admonished by the spirit of God in Proverb 4:23 to keep and guard our
hearts with all vigilance and above all that we guard, “…….for out of it flow the springs of life” (AMP).

God has
given us a powerful weapon to cast out fear. That weapon is His Word. The Bible
says, “For the Word of God is quick, and
powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword….”
(Hebrews 4:12). The Word
is all you need to get rid of fear in your life. Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and
hearing by the Word of God.”
As you receive it into your spirit, you’re
emboldened and empowered to face and win everyday’s challenges.

When you
fill your heart with God’s Word, you’ll no longer be fearful or succumbs to
satan’s manoeuvres.

CONFESSION

I am growing in the knowledge of God’s
Word and God’s perfect love. God has not given me the spirit of fear, but of
power, love, and a sound mind. Therefore, I refuse to fear and yield to its
tormenting power for fear has no place in my life, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!
