Holy Spirit Makes All The Difference

Holy Spirit Makes All The Difference.

And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm. Daniel 1:20

Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were taken away from their home to Babylon. While there, they were trained along with other young men from different nations. When it was time to present them to the king, the King observed that they were ten times better and more excellent than all the other young men. What made the difference? The Holy Spirit!

You’ve received the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8). His presence in you makes you special and excellent, He makes all the difference. Learn to fellowship with Him every day as you pray in other tongues often.

John 16:13

CONFESSION:

The Holy Spirit lives in me, and as I spend more time fellowshipping with Him and praying in other tongues, His excellence is revealed in me even more. Hallelujah!

Thank You Jesus.

Jesus Loves You.

Until you are born again, God ever abiding presence will never be with you. You must be born again to enjoy continuous victory. Please say the displayed prayer below in faith:

Lord Jesus, come into my life. I accept You as my Lord and Personal Saviour. I believe in my heart You died and rose from the dead to save me. Thank You Lord for saving me, in Jesus name Amen.

Commissioned By The Holy Ghost. Sermon And Prayer Points By Pastor E A Adeboye

Acts_1-8: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Acts_1-8: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Memorise

As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. –
Acts 13:2

Read

Acts 13:1-4 (KJV)
1 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
4 So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.

Message

Fasting is a Biblical practice whose interpretation in the Old Testament was slightly different from what it was in the New Testament. In the Old Testament, in addition to being a means of prayer and supplication, fasting is also synonymous with mourning, shame and lamentation. The practice typically took place when a crisis or other significant event became more important than eating. However, the New Testament presents fasting purely as a means of prayer and supplication devoid of mourning, shame or lamentation. As a matter of fact, Jesus taught us to fast without giving neighbours any clues, which means we should look clean and happy as always while fasting.
“16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; 18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.” –
Matthew 6:16-18

The above passage forms the basis and model for fasting in the New Testament Church. Fasting is therefore a means of seeking the face of the Lord for divine intervention in human affairs. It is such a powerful weapon of spiritual warfare that Jesus told His disciples that some level of miracles may not be possible without adding fasting and prayers. That is probably the reason why apostles of Jesus Christ took fasting and prayer seriously after the physical departure of our Lord Jesus Christ. Right from chapter one of the book of Acts, fasting began to feature in the activities of the disciples, and each time, God responded with great miracles, signs and wonders.
Fasting was especially used by the apostles whenever they wanted God to commission them or needed special instruction or direction. Obviously, the apostles old and the church at Antioch spent quality time in worship, fasting and prayer, earnestly seeking the Lords will as they opened themselves to divine direction. Their effort was honoured by God through the power of the Holy Ghost as they as they received answers to their request by physical manifestation of the power of God in their midst. The apostle would not have been able to do much without the commissioning power of the Spirit of God.

Prayer Point

Sweet Holy Spirit, please don’t let me do anything without your direction and commission in the name of Jesus. Amen!

Righteousness, Peace, And Joy In The Holy Ghost

Righteousness, Peace, And Joy In The Holy Ghost

Romans_10-10: For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation

Romans_10-10: For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation

“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”

Romans 14:17 (KJV)

In Matthew 6:33, Jesus challenges us to seek first the Kingdom of God in order for other things to be given to us. You will notice from our text that the kingdom is not about doing the work of the ministry or going to the mission field. It is not something that flows from the outside in; instead, it flows from the inside out. Remember that Jesus said the kingdom is within us (Luke 17:21).

Paul tells in our text that the kingdom is “[. . .] righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost” (Romans 14:17, KJV).

  1. Righteousness: Not our own righteousness predicated on our works. It is a gift from Jesus, who has become our righteousness (Romans 5:17, 1Corinthians 1:30). You must be established in the fact that you are now the righteousness of God in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21).
  2. Peace with God: Because you are justified by faith you now have peace with God (Romans 5:1). And because you have peace with God, which means that God is not mad at you, you also have the peace of God, which passes all human understanding (Philippians 4:7). Jesus gave us peace (John 14:17). With your being established in peace with God, and with the peace of God, you now know that no matter what you’re facing everything will be alright.

  3. Joy in the Holy Ghost: Joy will always be your portion whenever you focus on the finished work of Jesus Christ on your behalf. He paid the price so that you could receive the benefits. What Joy this understanding will produce in your heart! Therefore, see your righteousness in Christ every day. See that all of your sins are forgiven and you will flow in peace and joy. That is what it means to flow in the kingdom of God.

Matthew 6:24-34

Jeremiah 50

Hebrews 8

Lord God. The Holy Ghost.

God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect

God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect

Lord God, the Holy Ghost.

In this accepted hour,
As on the day of Pentecost,
Descend in all Thy power!

We meet with one accord
In our appointed place,
And wait the promise of our
Lord,
The Spirit of all grace.

Like mighty rushing wind
Upon the waves beneath,
Move with one impulse every mind,
One soul, one feeling breathe.

The young, the old inspire
With wisdom from above,
And give us hearts and tongues of fire
To pray, and praise, and love.

Spirit of Light, explore
And chase our gloom away,
With lustre shining more and
more
Unto the perfect day!

Spirit of Truth, be Thou
In life and death our Guide!
O Spirit of Adoption , now
May we be sanctified. Amen!

1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. 6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. 7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? 9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. 12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? 13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: 15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. 16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: 18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: 19 And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: 21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. 22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: 23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: 24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it. 25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: 26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: 27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. 29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. 30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; 31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. 32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. 33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. 34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, 35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool. 36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. 41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. 44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common; 45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

May GOD bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May GOD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the LORD lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, 2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: 3 To whom also he showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: 4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. 5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. 9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey. 13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. 14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,) 16 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus. 17 For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry. 18 Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out. 19 And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood. 20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishopric let another take. 21 Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, 22 Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection. 23 And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. 24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, show whether of these two thou hast chosen, 25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. 26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

May GOD bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May GOD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the LORD lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Luke 12. Beware of hypocrisy. A warning against hypocrisy

Luke 12. Beware of hypocrisy. A warning against hypocrisy

1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. 2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. 3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. 4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. 5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? 7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. 8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: 9 But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God. 10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven. 11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: 12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

13 And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me. 14 And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you? 15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. 16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: 17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? 18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. 20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? 21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. 23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. 24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? 25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? 26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? 27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? 29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. 30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. 31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. 32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. 34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. 35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; 36 And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. 37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. 38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. 39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. 40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

41 Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all? 42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? 43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath. 45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; 46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. 47 And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. 49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? 50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished! 51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: 52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. 53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

54 And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is. 55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. 56 Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time? 57 Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right? 58 When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison. 59 I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.

May GOD bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May GOD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the LORD lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

For I Know The Thoughts That I Think Towards You, Says The LORD, Thoughts Of Peace, And Not Of Evil, To Give You An Expected End

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end

Jeremiah 29:11 says: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

God has a plan and a purpose for your life. There’s no evil in that plan. I’m so glad to know that when I am in a battle, when I am facing struggles and need, and when it seems as if I am in my darkest hour the last thing I have to consider is where God stands. He stands at my side. He stands on my behalf. He’s got my back. He’s got my front. Though a thousand would fall at my side and ten thousand at my right hand, it will not come near me. The angels of the Lord are encamped round about me.

God is with you, too!

You never have to wonder who brought you trouble. You can rest assured that God will bring you out. You don’t have to reason or wonder if it is too hard for God. You can know that nothing is impossible to Him. When you are in a battle, never give thought to who brought the problem. Always think upon God, because He is your answer.
God is not the problem!

The Unpardonable Sin. Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost.

Church of the Holy Spirit in Chełmno

The Unpardonable SinBlasphemy against the Holy Ghost

MATTHEW 12:31,

“Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shalt be forgiven unto men: but blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.”

LUKE 12:10; MATTHEW 12:24-31; MARK 3:22-30

The word “blaspheme” means “to speak evil of; defame; or revile.” In context, Jesus is saying that blasphemy against the Holy Ghost is attributing the working of the Holy Spirit to the devil. Many people in the Bible did this, including Saul, who became the Apostle Paul. However, we see in 1 Timothy 1:13, that Paul said he received mercy concerning his blasphemy because he had done it “ignorantly in unbelief.” Therefore, the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost Jesus is warning against must be willfully reviling the Holy Ghost with knowledge of what is being done.

This parallels Hebrews 6:4-6, where qualifications are placed on those who can fall away from grace. This passage indicates that only a mature Christian can commit such a thing. Likewise, with blasphemy against the Holy Ghost, rash statements spoken against the Holy Spirit in ignorance or unbelief by those who don’t really know what they are doing can be forgiven.

From our human perspective, no clear line can be drawn as to when someone becomes accountable for blasphemies and has committed this unpardonable sin. We can be assured that God knows the hearts of all men and that He will judge righteously concerning this. However, God’s Word does show us that when anyone becomes a “reprobate,” they lose all conviction from God (Rom. 1:28).

Therefore, anyone who is convicted and repentant over having possibly blasphemed the Holy Ghost has not yet reached the place where it is unpardonable or they wouldn’t care. Keep your heart tender and sensitive to Him. Listen to His voice speak to you through His Word today.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

See God’s Perfect Will

John 9:7 says: “And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.” Here Jesus made clay and put it on the blind man’s eyes. Then He sent him to the pool to wash. What a miracle when the man saw! Jesus wants all of us to allow Him to apply the truth to our eyes so that we may see God’s perfect will, and that we may see how we should walk and what sin is. God wants us to see the path of righteousness and the path of destruction and sin, so that when we encounter sin we stay away from it. It’s not that God is trying to keep us from joy, but He’s trying to keep us from being cursed. He’s trying to keep us from having the devil lord it over us. And He’s trying to keep us from an eternal hell.

When God opens your eyes and shows you the path of righteousness and His will, then like the blind man you must go and do it. When you do, the world sees that you are a prized disciple. Today, if you know to do right, do it. What you know is wrong, refuse it. You are anointed of God, and empowered by the Holy Ghost. You can do all things. The Holy Ghost will help you mortify the deeds of your flesh, so stand strong; don’t cave in. Resist the devil, and he will flee.

Wash your eyes!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit

John 7:38 says: “He that believeth on Me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

We understand that this is speaking of the Holy Ghost. Jesus tells us that when we believe on Him, then the Holy Ghost comes into our lives and we are empowered. When it says, “out of his belly shall flow rivers…”, these are rivers of living water.

The rivers include enablement, measures of grace, the things that God enables and empowers us to do with the help of the Holy Ghost. It is not by our own strength, but it is the strength of the Holy Ghost. Jesus wants us to know that we as Christians, when we are born again, when we are saved, we are no longer our own, and it is not we who have to do the work, but it is God who is willing to do the work in us, for us, and through us. Remember, it is God who gave His Son that we might be saved. Here it is expressed that the Holy Ghost comes and empowers us to experience salvation. We are not alone, but we are strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

Be strong in the Lord!

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Leaving school, parting, deathlike, calls up tears. It’s my Birthday

Today is my Birthday!

Hip! Hop!! Hooray!!!

I’m a year older and wiser too!  I have been thinking what story should I write to commemorate with such a special day, but couldn’t up with something. So I dug into my archives and dug out this article I wrote eight years ago. Unedited, I hope you will enjoy it.

Leaving school, parting, deathlike, calls up tears!

Leaving school, moving houses, ending a relationship and going away generally leave a sour taste in the mouth and tears in the eyes, it makes one feel a loss akin to death.

And now as I write this, I am thinking of my friends and foes alike who have graduated and who are currently serving their motherland (NYSC) National Youth Service Corps.

Thinking of them makes me realise the transient nature of things. The here-now-gone-tomorrow phenomenon that is life.

I think of the first loud yelp that ushers man into this life and I recall that most of us shed tears on our first day in secondary school (some even cried in the university).

If life is fun, why do babies cry when they are born? I’m waiting for answers fellas!

Then, my mind goes to a baby’s feeble attempts to crawl, to walk and run – A provocation of the toils of the years. Think of the JAMB/SAT/TOEFL hurdle that is crossed and sealed. The sweat toil to get good grades and move from one level to the other.

Then the finals!

The frenetic pace.

The project to be written, typed and bound. Seminar preparation and presentations. Then the examinations. The waiting and the results .Bad ones, good ones, sad ones and the happy ones.

The good and happy ones graduate. There is the convocation, the unemployment, the employment, marriage, kids, retirement, the farewells. Then finally the Adieu!

Isn’t life such a sweet tumultuous journey!

What a struggle!

The power of humility

The power of humility

“For by grace given me I say to every one of you. Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself only with sober judgement in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.”  Romans 12:3

Humility is the opposite of pride. It is a mental attitude of holiness and its major characteristic is not thinking of oneself more highly than one ought to.

Jesus said to the woman with a possessed daughter “it is not right to give bread to a dog.” many would call that a mean statement. At that point she could have reacted negatively to the degrading statement made by Jesus, but she did not. The humility with which she accepted the statement, made Jesus confirm her faith “O woman great is thy faith, be it unto thee even as thou wilt” and her daughter was made whole immediately.

It is humility that brings a soul to nothing before God, which also removes every hindrance to faith. One can only wonder what would have become of her daughter if she had reacted in pride like many would have.

Pride does not pay; the path to a higher life is from down upward, this is because; humility is the key to total sanctification and exaltation.

I must decrease that He (Christ) might increase!

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

There is hope for you

the Gospel of MatthewTHERE IS
HOPE FOR YOU

Now the God of hope fill you with all
joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of
the Holy Ghost (Romans 15:13)

Hope is the
positive expectation of a desired end. It’s a virtue that gives you strength and
a purpose. Only Jesus Christ can give you extraordinary hope. When you have
that kind of hope, you’ll be propelled to look forward to tomorrow with
excitement, because hope is for the future. It’s to expect with confidence; to
cherish a desire with anticipation of a positive outcome.

We find an
example of this from the story of the woman who had an issue of blood for
twelve years. She had spent all her earnings on medical bills, but instead of
getting better, she only got worse. She heard about Jesus, and on a certain
day, came up behind Him in the crowd and touched His clothes, “For she said within herself, if I may but
touch his garment, I shall be whole”
(Matthew 9:21).

As soon as
she touched the hem of Jesus’ garment her bleeding ceased, and she immediately
knew she was healed. She didn’t need anybody to confirm her healing; she just
accepted it and that was it.

Though the
woman had become desperate, having found herself in a hopeless situation for
twelve long years, hope came to her when she heard that the Master was healing people.
Her hope translated to faith when she told herself “I’m going to touch His
clothes and be healed!” never think the situation you might be facing is too
hopeless, for no problem is insurmountable.

There’s hope
for you in Christ Jesus! It makes no difference the medical conditions you’ve
been diagnosed with or the state of your finances; cheer up, there’s hope for
you. The Bible says Christ in you, the
Hope of Glory
(Colossians 1:27). Look forward to tomorrow with excitement,
keep your hope alive. Nurture it to the point it can’t be denied. You too can
be healed! You can achieve that desire in your heart. It’s not over for you
yet, see the ray of light in the horizon, for there’s a miracle for you right
now in that situation for which you require a change. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION

Thank be unto God Who has given me
freely all joy and peace in believing, that I may abound in hope through the
power of the Holy Ghost! My life is from glory to glory because Christ in me my
assurance for the upward and forward life, in Jesus Name! Amen!

Through Faith We Understand That The Worlds Were Framed By The Word Of God

THROUGH FAITH WE UNDERSTAND THAT THE WORLDS WERE FRAMED BY
THE WORD OF GOD

Through faith we
understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which
are seen were not made of things which do appear (Hebrews 11:3)

The Greek word translated “framed” in the opening scripture
is “katartizo” which is to repair,
frame, perfect, mend, or restore. In other words, through faith we understand
that the worlds were repaired, framed, mended, restored and perfected by God.
This lets us understand the power of faith because that was how God framed the
visible world from the unseen.

Another word to study in the opening scripture is “world”,
which is translated from the Greek word “aion”. “Aion” refers to the structure
and administration of one’s life; how things go with you from day to day,
including how they affect your hopes and aspirations. It is the world’s system
with respect to socio-economic structures and environmental management of a
period in human history, including its arts and sciences.

The creation account in the book of Genesis informs us that
God made the whole world by speaking forth His Word. He called forth the light,
land and sea creatures, as well as everything else that He made. He had inside
Him the kind of earth He desired but He needed to speak forth the Word to bring
to pass what He desired. Each time He spoke, the Holy Ghost acted on those
words and caused what God spoke forth to appear.

As God’s children, this is also true about us, for we’re
made in His image and in His likeness. There’s a creative power in us, a
divinely enabled ability to create the kind of life or environment we desire.
We can order the circumstances of life to conform to the image we conceive in
our spirit. We can alter our destinies and change the course of our lives by
speaking words in faith and calling forth the things we desire to see in our
lives.

This is the key to recreating one’s life and living in
victory continually. Start speaking and calling forth today what you want to
see in your life and the Holy Ghost will incubate on your words and make them a
reality. Thus, it doesn’t matter what has happened in your world – your “aion”
– you can recreate your world! You can frame – perfect, mend or restore
everything in your “aion” by declaring faith-filled words.

CONFESSION

Dear Father, I
declare in the Name of Jesus Christ that the lines are falling unto me in
pleasant places; I’m experiencing fruitfulness, peace, prosperity and
productivity in every area of my life, for You have perfected all that concerns
me! Therefore, I experience absolute success and victory today, and declare
that everything in my aion is perfected in line with Your Will and destiny for
my life. Amen!

Holy Spirit is With You Forever

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

And I will pray the Father, and He
shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever (John
14:16).

Some Christians
think the Holy Spirit sometimes goes on a break, or takes a recess just because
at such times they didn’t “feel” His presence. You don’t have to “feel” God to
know that He’s with you. Rather, you ought to know that He’s with you always,
because the Word says so. Jesus said, “…….and,
lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen”
(Matthew
28:20). He didn’t say, “I’m with you only
when you can “feel” that I am.”
Many have reduced their experience of Christianity
to the carnal realm of feeling, and that’s so wrong, for we walk by faith and
not by sensory perceptions (2 Corinthians 5:7).

But you
might want to ask, “What if someone, having received the Holy Spirit at the New
Birth, backslides and feels that the Holy Spirit has left him or her, is this
just a feeling or was the Holy Spirit actually frustrated with all the sin in
such a person?” Well, God is not a man (Numbers 23:19), and He doesn’t act like
some earthly parents who wouldn’t relate with their kids for doing something
wrong. Sadly, this is the poor perception of God that some folks have.

That you did
something wrong won’t make the Holy Spirit leave you. Remember, you weren’t
made right with God because of your own righteousness; it came because God gave
you His righteousness. Thus, His presence with you isn’t dependent on what you
did right or wrong, or the way you feel. His presence is dependent on His
infallible Word; because of His love! That’s the reason He’ll never leave you
nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

Read again
the words of Jesus in our opening verse, He said”And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter,
that He may abide with you forever”
(John 14:16). God the Father, through
the Holy Spirit abides with you forever, not sometimes. Don’t consider what
your feelings tell you. As long as you haven’t wilfully rejected Christ and His
sacrifice of salvation for you on the Cross, the Holy Spirit cannot and will
not leave you!

Even when
you err and start feeling as though the Holy Spirit has left you, it’s still
the Holy Spirit who guides you unto repentance, proving His presence with you
even at such times. If He left you, you could never return to Him! But He
wouldn’t, for He’s with you to fulfil His ministry in your life, till Jesus
comes. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

PRECIOUS LORD, I THANK
YOU FOR THE RICH FELLOWSHIP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WHICH I ENJOY LAVISHLY TODAY,
AND FOREVER. WHAT JOY TO KNOW THAT I’M ORDAINED INTO THIS WONDERFUL UNION AND
FELLOWSHIP WITH YOU FOR ETERNITY! AMEN!

The Holy Spirit Your Helper.

AND I WILL ASK THE
FATHER, AND HE WILL GIVE YOU ANOTHER COMFORTER (CONUNSELLOR, HELPER,
INTERCESSOR, ADVOCATE, STRENGTHENER, AND STANDBY), THAT HE MAY REMAIN WITH YOU
FOREVER (JOHN 14:16 AMP).

The Holy
Spirit wants you to know that He is your Helper. Therefore, you don’t have to
face any difficult situation alone. Three Hebrew boys; Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego
were thrown into the fiery furnace, but they were unhurt because they weren’t
alone. There was a fourth man with them in the fire. That fourth man was the
Helper amidst the trouble and He is the Holy Ghost.

The Holy
Spirit is your spiritual Helper and He can do much more than your mind can
fathom (Ephesians 3:20). He can help you out of any situation. He’s your
Standby. He’s always there for you at anytime of the day; for He neither
slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:4).

Though the
fire raged, yet, the fire had no power over the bodies of the three Hebrew
boys, “….nor was a hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed,
nor the smell of fire had passed on them” (Daniel 3:27). I want you to realize
that the Holy Ghost wasn’t just standing like a monument; rather, He was
already working ever before the boys were thrown into the fiery furnace.

If you’re
going through fire right now; it may be in your finances, body, academics,
marriage or business, I want you to know God has big plans for you and He’s
already working on it. He has given you the “super-duper” Holy Ghost as your
Helper. Instead of seeking man’s help, turn your attention to Him and trust Him
for He never fails. He’s saying to you today, “when you go through deep waters
and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of
difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression,
you will not be burned up – the flames will not consume you” (Isaiah 43:2 TLB).
Trust Him and He’ll bring you out of that trouble.

PRAYER

DEAR FATHER, I THANK
YOU FOR THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT; HE’S MY COUNSELLOR, HELPER, INTERCESSOR, ADVOCATE,
STRENGTHENER, AND STANDBY. STRENGTHEN MY HEART AND STIR UP COURAGE WITHIN ME I
PRAY; THAT I MAY SET MY FOCUS ON HIM ALONE IN SPITE OF THE SITUATION AROUND ME,
IN JESUS CHRIST NAME, AMEN!

Some people believe they have to be dishonest to prosper or be successful in life. That’s wrong! You don’t have to ride on other people’s backs or cheat to make ends meet. So, don’t fall into that worldly deception.
Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before men…” (Matthew 5:16): He wants you to be worthy example of Himself; He wants you to set a good example for the rest of the world to see and follow. “Show men that there’s the right way of doing things” (Paraphrase mine) He says. If there’s a thing as a lie, it must mean there’s such a thing as truth. If there’s the counterfeit, it means there’s the genuine one. In other words, if there’s a dishonest way to have a prosperous life – which of course will get you into trouble – it must mean there’s also an honest way. Otherwise, dishonesty will cease to be dishonesty and become the right way to do things.
There are people who say that they live in the real world, and by that they mean the Word of God is too good to be true. Meanwhile, they’re suffering terribly; business is bad for them; money isn’t coming in as it should; everything is just upside down. That’s not from God. If that’s your experience about life I want you to know that you can change it. It doesn’t matter who gave birth to you. Even if you were abandoned in a garbage dump by your mother. You can no longer regard that, because you are now an adult. Your life now depends on your choices.
Life ought to be beautiful; life ought to be exciting. That’s the life that I have chosen because God gave us the options and He told us which one is better (Deuteronomy 30:19). Anybody can live a happy, successful, prosperous and victorious life. From the moment you received Christ as your Lord and Saviour, you became an heir to health and prosperity.
CONFESSION
My life is for the glory of God alone. Therefore , I refuse to engage in an activity of darkness. I choose to do only those things that’ll bring glory to the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

Communication Deepens Our Fellowship With God

Every relationship without communication suffers; be it relationship with your children, your spouse, your co-workers, or with God. Communication – good and frequent communication – helps or enhances relationships. If you have a relationship with someone you don’t talk with, that relationship will suffer setbacks. No matter how proximate you may be to the person, without continually exchanging thoughts by talking to each other, your relationship won’t grow.

This is the reason we’re to constantly fellowship with the Lord through prayer. 2 Corinthians 13:14 says “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all.” This is an indication of the kind of relationship we’re to cultivate with the Holy Spirit; a communion; a sharing together. The Father and the Son are in heaven, but the Holy Spirit is here with us. Hence, He’s the God we know and relate with in the earth today, and He lives in us, fostering this extraordinary communion with divinity.

There’s no other way to develop an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit, aside from communing with Him constantly in prayer, and through meditation on the Word. Consciously create time to talk to and with the Lord the same way you’ll perhaps schedule to talk to a friend, colleague or loved one.

Remember, the Holy Spirit is a person with emotions, will and intellect; therefore relate to Him as such. The highest means of communication with Him is by speaking in tongues; and as you do, He’ll make the presence of God real to you and the miraculous your constant experience.

PRAYER

Dear Holy Spirit, thank You for Your abiding presence that brings glory and beauty to my life. I’m constantly energized from within because You strengthen me with might in my inner man, even as I fellowship with You today. Thank You for Your glorious ministry in my life, in Jesus Christ’s Name, Amen!
